Turquoise, the UK merchant bank specialising in energy, environment and efficiency, has announced an investment by Low Carbon Innovation Fund 2 (LCIF2) in Humans Not Robots. This forms part of a capital raising round of over £440,000 in which other investors included Blue Lake Ventures, VGC Partners and Turquoise Capital.
Humans Not Robots offers a data analytics platform that enables media and broadcast organisations to manage a cleaner, cheaper and faster media supply chain. The platform brings together Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, focussing on clean growth, to empower organisations to gain clear insight into three core aspects of their operations – environmental impact, cost and time.
Humans Not Robots are leading the digital sustainability revolution by becoming the leading sustainable media supply chain enabler for the Media and Broadcast industry to considerably reduce the environmental impact of video streaming.
Luke Jackson, Associate at Turquoise, commented: “We are delighted to announce this investment in Humans Not Robots. The media supply chain is a dark horse when it comes to carbon emissions, due in part to the vast amounts of data storage they require for modern day, instant, on-demand streaming. Humans Not Robots founding team are industry renowned experts in this field and their solution has the capability to be one of our most impactful investments, in terms of carbon savings.” Luke will be joining the Humans Not Robots board as a Board Observer.
Kristan Bullett, CEO of Humans Not Robots, added: “We are thrilled to have received backing from LCIF2 so that we can propel our mission to bring sustainability to the media supply chain, for the benefit of business, people and the planet. Our unique approach enables Media and Broadcast organisations to unify sustainability with cost and time, analysing current issues and proposing actionable improvements. This investment from LCIF2 will allow us to scale our offering even further and deliver on our ambition to help organisations achieve their sustainability goals.”
LCIF2 is funded by the European Regional Development Fund, with the UK’s Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities as the Managing Authority.
